Lynx Information Systems Ltd Exploration Archivist Release 3 Base Software Package V3.3 Base Program executables and documentation This installation will install the system files necessary to run Lynx software, and configure your PC to run Lynx software. ---------------------------------------------- LEASETUP contains threee installation options: 1. Standalone Installation. Select this to install and run Lynx software on a single PC. The default installation directory is C:\Lynxsys3. The default data directory (used as the default location for data files, and customised configuration files) is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\LynxData. After running LEASETUP, run the other installations (in any order). Lynx programs can be run by clicking the Lynx Launcher icon on your desktop or in the Start menu. Help files can be accessed through the Help menu of the Launcher (or from C:\Lynxsys3\docs\index.htm) Some Lynx programs may require a licence file or hardware key (dongle) in order to run. If you have a dongle it should be plugged into the parallel port of the PC before starting any Lynx program. Programs that require a licence file will display an 8-digit number derived from the PC hardware, which you must send to us (see addresses below), and we will send you a licence file to activate the program(s). 2. Network Server Installation Select this to install Lynx software on a central file server. The installation directory should be accessible to clients on the network. You will be prompted to enter a "local data" directory - this directory will be created on each client PC to contain default data files and temporary files. You will also be prompted to enter a "network user" path. This stores each user's customised configuration files. This directory must be accessible to all users from all client PCs with the same path. After installing LEASETUP on the server, run the other installations (in any order) on the server, selecting the same installation directory. Then run LEASETUP on each PC client, and select the "Network Client" installation option. Network installations usually use floating network licences. Contact Lynx or read Lynxsys\docs\licinfo.htm for details of how to do this. 3. Network Client Installation Select this to configure a PC to run the Lynx software already installed on a file server on your network. Lynx programs can be run by clicking the Lynx Launcher icon on your desktop or in the Start menu. After installation you may need to run the FILEREG utility from the Launcher in order to associate file extensions and register DLLs required by Lynx programs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lynx Information Systems Ltd email: lynx@lynxinfo.co.uk web: www.lynxinfo.co.uk tel: +44 (0)20 8780 2634 93-99 Upper Richond Rd London SW15 2TG UK ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELEASE NOTES ============= V3.32 29/10/07 CM LAUNCHER.EXE V1.74 FILEREG.EXE V1.61 LEASTART.INI LynxData dir in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\LynxData for limited user compatibility --------------------------------------------- V3.31 06/06/07 CM Updated help stylesheet and banner --------------------------------------------- V3.30 14/11/06 CM Updated INI files --------------------------------------------- V3.29 18/10/06 CM Corrected default dirs in Inno script --------------------------------------------- V3.28 03/08/06 CM LAUNCHER.EXE V1.73 Inno V5 event-driven code section --------------------------------------------- V3.27 06/09/05 CM LAUNCHER.EXE V1.70 --------------------------------------------- V3.26 08/06/05 CM FILEREG.EXE V1.60 --------------------------------------------- V3.25 20/04/05 CM LICINFO.INI links to website --------------------------------------------- V3.24 22/09/04 CM Changed Inno options: UsePreviousSetupType=false UsePreviousTasks=false --------------------------------------------- V3.23 29/06/04 CM Inno setup --------------------------------------------- V3.22 15/7/03 CM Program versions: LAUNCHER.EXE V1.60 SETPARMW.EXE V2.40 FILEREG.EXE V1.50 LEACFG.EXE V1.21 LEAOBCOM.DLL V3.20 New help dir structure with program subdirs in IMAGES --------------------------------------------- V3.21 6/3/03 CM New exes: LAUNCHER V1.50 SETPARMW V2.21 FILEREG V1.41 RTL60.BPL V6.0.6.242 -------------------------------------------- Version 3.03 17/07/02 Updated library: RTL60.BPL 6.0.6.241 -------------------------------------------- Version 3.02 12/07/02 Updated exes: FILEREG.EXE V1.36 LAUNCHER.EXE V1.40 LEACFG.EXE V1.20 SETPARMW.EXE V2.07 LEAOBCOM.DLL V3.05 -------------------------------------------- Version 3.01 08/01/02 Project GUID changed so LEA 3 can be installed in parallel with LEA 2 -------------------------------------------- Version 3.00 02/10/01 LEA Release 3 -------------------------------------------- Version 2.50 04/07/01 LEASTART.INI installed to LYNXSYS not WINDOWS for correct network install -------------------------------------------- Version 2.40 20/05/01 Setup built with InstallShield V6.20 Supports Win 95,98,NT and 2000 -------------------------------------------- Version 2.30 12/01/01 new licensing methods, network and dongle -------------------------------------------- Version 2.22 07/12/00 FileReg V1.11 -------------------------------------------- Version 2.21 05/11/00 Added missing exclam.gif -------------------------------------------- Version 2.01 13/09/00 Launcher V1.12 -------------------------------------------- Version 2.00 22/05/00 --------------------------------------------
